Arrival
You can either take direct flight to Antalya International Airport or take a connecting flight through Istanbul. The conference venue Atlantis Hotel Convention Center is located in Belek Tourism Region near Kadriye town. Please kindly note as that there no public transportation in this area.

For arriving to Atlantis Hotel Convention Center, the participants may either take a taxi or take the shuttle organized by Asterya for IUAES participants.

Taxis are always available in the airport and the journey takes about 30 minutes. All of the taxis are yellow and have fitted metres. The cost of getting from the airport to Belek region is about 50.-Euros between 6:00 am and midnight, with a 50% increase after midnight.

Visas
To enter Turkey, you are required to have a passport that is valid for at least six months from the date you travel to Turkey. In addition, nationals from some countries require a visa to enter Turkey. Depending on your country of origin, you may purchase a visa stamp at the point of entry, or you must apply for the visa before arriving in Turkey.

Electricity
Turkey operates on 220 volts, 50 Hz, with round-prong Euroopean-style plugs that fit into recessed wall sockets/points. Check your appliances before leaving home to see what you'll need to plug in when you travel in Turkey.

Weather
Climate is typical Mediterranean. Swimming season is April to November. Average daytime temperature in April is about 20°C.

Banks, Credit Cards, Exchange
Banks are open between 08:00 –12:00 and 13:30 –16:30. Private exchange offices, they are open till 18:00. An ATM machine is available nearby the Atlantis Hotel.

Currency
The currency is the Turkish Lira. Convertible foreign currency may be exchanged at the airport, hotels, banks and private exchange offices at the current exchange rates. The rates are announced in the daily newspapers. International credit cards are widely used.

Tipping
In restaurants, tip 10% to 15%. In hotels, tip €1 - €2 per bag for porters. You do not need to give tip for the taxis.
You may tip in any currency so long as you give notes/bills (paper money). Do not give non-Turkish coins, as these cannot be exchanged for Turkish liras.

Shopping/Opening Hours
Shops are open from: 08h30-21h00. Credit Cards, Foreign Currency and Turkish Liras can be used when shopping. We recommend shopping for textiles, leather products, carpets and jewellery from Turkey. The designs are unique to Turkey and prices are affordable.
